In this Privacy Policy (“Policy”), we describe how we collect and use personal information that we obtain from you, when you visit our website www.pastryclass.com (the “Website”), sign up for communications from us or create an account. This Policy applies to all information we collect through our Website and any related services, sales, marketing (collectively referred to as the “Services”) before you enroll in a class.

Please read this Policy carefully as it will help you make informed decisions about sharing your personal information with us.

INFORMATION WE COLLECT

We collect information in the following ways: if and when you provide information directly to us, automatically through our Services, and from third-party sources. Let’s go over the information that we collect below.

PERSONAL INFORMATION YOU PROVIDE TO US

We collect personal information that you voluntarily provide to us when you express an interest in obtaining information about us or our products and Services, when you participate in activities on the Services or when you contact us.
The amount and type of information depends on how you interact with our Services. The personal information we collect can include the following:

Email address, first and last name. When you sign up for a PastryClass account, we may ask you for basic personal information such as your email address, first name, and last name. You can also sign up to receive email newsletters and promotional offers from us or join a waitlist for a class by submitting your email address.
Log-in credentials, if you create a PastryClass account. We may collect passwords, password hints, and similar security information used for authentication and account access.
Billing information, such as credit or debit card number, expiration date, verification number, and postal code. Your billing information is automatically saved and secured in your Student Profile.
Information about you. We may collect information related to your ethnicity, gender, date of birth, and country of citizenship.
Information about others. If you request that your purchase be provided to someone other than yourself (such as a gift recipient), we use the information you provide about the other person to fulfill the shipment.
Commercial information. We may collect information regarding your purchase or enrollment in our Services.
Information about your customer service interactions with us. We may receive information about you when you send us an email message or otherwise contact us. We collect and maintain a record of your contact details, communications, and our responses.
Demographic information such as your gender or other information you choose to provide as part of your PastryClass profile.
User-generated content you provide to us, such as when you comment on content on the Services, respond to a survey request, review a class, or participate in the public forums.
User Profiles. We may combine the information you provide us and that we collect about you to create a user profile so that we can more effectively deliver our Services to you and manage our Website.
Partner sites. Partner sites providing content offering-related tools and services to PastryClass users may collect nonfinancial individual-level user data regarding the individual's use of that partner site while the partner sites provide those services to PastryClass. The partner sites may share that data with PastryClass for the purpose of improving our Services, the partner site's services, and the individual's education experience. This data includes information such as the amount of time spent on the partner site and pages viewed.

INFORMATION WE COLLECT AUTOMATICALLY

We also automatically collect information when you visit or use our Services, such as IP address, browser and device characteristics, operating system, language preferences, referring URLs, device type, country, location, information about how and when you use our Services, and other technical information.

We and our service providers (third-party companies that work on our behalf) collect information through various technologies, including cookies and similar technologies to assist in collecting this information. HOW AND WHY WE USE YOUR INFORMATION

We use information about you as mentioned above and for the purposes listed below:

To create and manage account creation and the login process. If you sign up for a class, we use the information you provide to complete that registration. Additionally, if you choose to link your account with us to a third-party account (such as your Google or Facebook account), we use the information you allowed us to collect from those third parties to facilitate the account creation and login process.
To respond to your requests. We may use your information to respond, fulfill, and manage your requests, orders, payments, returns, and exchanges made through the Services.
To provide you with helpful information, Service news, and updates.
To provide you with updates and information about classes in which you have enrolled.
To contact you by email, postal mail, or phone regarding PastryClass and third-party products, services, surveys, research studies, promotions, special events, and other subjects that we think may be of interest to you.
To deliver targeting advertisements to you. We use personal information for marketing and advertising purposes.
To help us better understand your interests and needs and improve the Services, including through research and reports, and test and create new products, features, and services.
To secure our websites and applications and resolve app crashes and other reported issues.
To comply with any procedures, laws, and regulations that apply to us where it is necessary for our legitimate interests or the legitimate interests of others.
To establish, exercise, or defend our legal rights where it is necessary for our legitimate interests or the legitimate interests of others.
To request feedback. We may use your personal information to request feedback and to contact you about the use of our Services.

Third-Party Advertisers. Once you enroll in a class, you will automatically be opted out of all targeted or behavioral advertising. You can opt back in by sending a request to hello@pastryclass.com. You may opt-in to the receipt of marketing emails and/or text messages when you enroll in a course. If you opt-in to the receipt of these messages, we may use your personal information for marketing or promotional purposes and may use your information to develop and display content and advertising (and work with third parties who do so) tailored to your interests and/or location and to measure its effectiveness.

CHILDREN'S PRIVACY

Our Service does not address anyone under the age of thirteen (13). We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from anyone under the age of thirteen (13). If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided us with Personal Data, please contact us. If we become aware that we have collected Personal Data from anyone under the age of thirteen (13) without verification of parental consent, we take steps to remove that information from our servers.

Your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in Canada or other countries outside of where you live for the purposes as described in this policy. These data transfers are necessary to provide the services set forth in the PastryClass Terms and to globally operate and provide our Services to you. We utilize standard contract clauses, rely on the European Commission's adequacy decisions about certain countries, as applicable, and obtain your consent for these data transfers to Canada and other countries.

We encourage you to periodically review this Policy to stay informed about our privacy practices, as we may review and update our processes from time to time. If we make a change that, in our sole discretion, is material, we will notify you through email, by posting a notification on our Website, or as required by law. Unless otherwise stated, changes to this Policy will take effect immediately as of the date it is posted. By continuing to use our Website after Policy changes go into effect, you agree to be bound by the revised Policy.
